Blood, sweat and tears were shed at Bruce Castle Park on a sunny September Saturday as thousands of pounds were raised for Haringey charities and community groups.
Okay, so there wasn’t much blood, or tears, but there was plenty of sweat as dozens of sponsored runners and walkers huffed and puffed their way round the park in aid of local charities.
It was the long-awaited Fit-4-It fun run and about 80 participants representing 13 different church-based community-helping groups walked or ran their way round either 5k or 10k to raise funds for their chosen charity.
The youngest runners were aged 11, the oldest 70, and one brave competitor completed the course in a wheelchair.
Everyone got a medal for their efforts and category winners received engraved trophies. The event finished with a fellowship picnic to the sounds of a live jazz band.
It was a fantastic success and already people are lining up take part next year.
